GregTVPlayer Privacy Policy

Effective October 28, 2026

Summary

GregTVPlayer has no servers of its own and does not collect, sell or share your information. Everything the app stores stays on your TV, or in your own Google Drive if you turn on Drive sync.

Information stored on your TV

To work, the app stores the following on the device, in the app's private storage:

This information is removed when you clear the app's data or uninstall it.

Google user data

If you choose "Sign in with Google" for Drive sync, GregTVPlayer requests only the drive.appdata permission. With it, the app creates and reads a single settings file in a hidden application-data folder in your own Google Drive. The app cannot see, change or delete any of your other Drive files.

That settings file contains your app settings, your sources and channels (including their logins), your network-share login, and your sign-ins for services such as Plex, Emby and Trakt, so another of your TVs can be set up the same way. It is not encrypted beyond the protection Google Drive itself provides. It is stored in your Google account only. It is not sent to the developer or anyone else.

GregTVPlayer's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

To remove it, choose "Sign out of Google" in the app. You can also delete the hidden app data at Google Drive settings > Manage apps, and remove the app's access at myaccount.google.com/permissions.

Services you connect

When you use features that rely on other services, the app talks to them directly from your TV, using your own accounts: your IPTV providers, Plex, Emby, Trakt, TorBox, TMDB, OpenSubtitles, Overseerr/Jellyseerr and the ESPN scoreboard. Their own privacy policies apply to what you send them.

Children

GregTVPlayer is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect information from them.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
